COUNTY OF HAWAI'I •(A /i. STATE OF HAWAI`I <br /> 4F Gf•M►..f� . <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 366 23 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO PETFIX SPAY AND <br /> NEUTER TO SUPPORT ITS SPAY AND NEUTER CLINICS. <br /> WHEREAS, PETFIX Spay and Neuter is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose <br /> mission is to help reduce the overpopulation of cats and dogs throughout the County of Hawai`i; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, PETFIX Spay and Neuter works to protect Hawai`i`s communities and <br /> environment by providing safe and professional spay and neuter services on Hawai`i Island at <br /> no-cost to lower-income participants; and <br /> WHEREAS, PETFIX Spay and Neuter is requesting funds to help defray veterinarian <br /> fees and purchase medications related to conducting spay and neuter clinics throughout the <br /> County of Hawai`i;and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development supports this project, which <br /> falls within its encouraging of innovations that help balance Hawai`i Island`s economic, social, <br /> community and environmental well-being by incorporating approaches that improve the well- <br /> being of communities and natural environment priorities; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; <br /> nowtherefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Research and Development to provide a grant to PETFIX Spay and Neuter to conduct its spay <br /> and neuter clinics throughout the County of Hawai`i. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
