RESOLUTION NO. 366 23
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO PETFIX SPAY AND
NEUTER TO SUPPORT ITS SPAY AND NEUTER CLINICS.
WHEREAS, PETFIX Spay and Neuter is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose
mission is to help reduce the overpopulation of cats and dogs throughout the County of Hawai`i;
and
WHEREAS, PETFIX Spay and Neuter works to protect Hawai`i`s communities and
environment by providing safe and professional spay and neuter services on Hawai`i Island at
no-cost to lower-income participants; and
WHEREAS, PETFIX Spay and Neuter is requesting funds to help defray veterinarian
fees and purchase medications related to conducting spay and neuter clinics throughout the
County of Hawai`i;and
WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development supports this project, which
falls within its encouraging of innovations that help balance Hawai`i Island`s economic, social,
community and environmental well-being by incorporating approaches that improve the well-
being of communities and natural environment priorities; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used;
nowtherefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of
Research and Development to provide a grant to PETFIX Spay and Neuter to conduct its spay
and neuter clinics throughout the County of Hawai`i.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Research and Development and Director of Finance, and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
