COUNTY OF HAWAI`I '•:R� ''° • STATE OF HAWAI'I 1T[OF•M- RESOLUTION NO. 367 23 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HILO WOMAN'S CLUB FOR ITS HOLIDAY MAGIC CONCERT. WHEREAS,the Hilo Woman's Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes the educational, social, and civic development of the Hilo community; and WHEREAS,the Hilo Woman's Club holds multiple annual fundraisers to be able to provide scholarships in support of Hilo students' educational endeavors and one such fundraiser is a family-friendly Holiday Magic Concert; and WHEREAS, the Holiday Magic Concert featuring `Apapane Rising String Quartet will be held at the Hilo Woman's Clubhouse at 7 Lele St., at 6:00 p.m. on December 9, 2023; and WHEREAS, the Hilo Woman's Club is requesting funds to cover expenses for the entertainment, printed materials, advertising, food and beverages, and decorations related to the Holiday Magic Concert; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that provide drug-free and alcohol-free events for the community; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Hilo Woman's Club for its Holiday Magic Concert. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
