The purpose of this letter is to serve as the fourteenth written amendment to the
Memorandum of Agreement for Lifeguard Services (MOA)made and entered into on June 27,
2012,as amended on September 12,2013,May 14,2014,.June 1,2015,June 17,2016,August 22,
2017, October 5, 2017,. March 23, 2018,June 10,2019, August 6,2019,July 20,2020,June 25,
2021,July 25,2022,and February 17,2023 between the State of Hawaii".and the County of Hawaii
for Hapuna Beach,Hapuna Beach State Recreation Area.
The MOA for the period.July 1,2023,through June 30,2024,is amended as follows:
1. The effective date of this amendment is July 1,2023.
2. The available funding under this amendment can be used for Water Safety Officer
positions in the amount of S1,164,297 and equipment including vehicles and lifeguard
towers in the amount of S 100,000:
3. The County will submit a quarterly report of rescues at :Hapuna Beach with the:
quarterly invoice and a financial statement indicating the staffing and equipment paid
under the invoice for the quarter.
4. All other terms and conditions of the MOA, and those amended in the twelfth
amendment,shall remain unchanged.
