Goals: To provide victim assistance services to victims of misdemeanor and felony
crimes, including but not limited to homicide, negligent homicide, robbery, assault, domestic violence,
child abuse, violation of protective orders, sexual assault, and property crimes.
Objectives: To service at least 2,000 victims and victim survivors by providing advocacy and
information throughout the criminal case.
Outcomes or Results: The Victim Assistance Unit provided services to a total of 4,903 victims, 985
witnesses, 123 secondary victims, and 500 other parties to cases involving approximately 21 different
types of victimizations. Services provided included but not limited to: advocacy within and outside the
