Re: Resolution Accepting Donation
Enclosed is a resolution accepting the donation of an ADA compliant Elkay Water,
Refilling Station with installation from Keiki of Da Aina Foundation(K.O.A.
Foundation), 73-1006 Ahulani St., Kailua-Kona, HI 96740. The water refilling station,
valued at approximately $2,000, is a state-of-the-art water fountain equipped with a water
bottle refill capacity to be installed at the Kekuaokalani Gymnasium(Old Airport Gym)
in Kailua-Kona.

This is a request to create a resolution to accept a donation to install an ADA compliant Elkay Water Refilling
ii Station (water fountain with water bottle refill capacity) at Kekuaokalani Gymnasium (Old Airport Gym) in

B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
' Nakoa Pabre (K.0.A: Foundation) desires to assist the County in the purchasing and installation of a state-of-
the-art water fountain equipped with a water bottle refill capacity at Kekuaakalani'Gy"mnsium (Old Airport.Gym)
, at a cost of$2,000.The goal is to provide gym patrons with access to cold water(enhancing their experience
whether'they are inside the gymnasiurn.or using the outdoor courts:
0 A water fountain with bottle refill capability promotes the reduction of single-use plastic bottles, supporting an
environmentally friendly initiative while offering users the convenience of refilling their personal water bottles.
-- Kailua-Kona where Kekuaokalani Gymnasium is situated, is known for its warmer temperatures."

ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF AN ADA COMPLIANT ELKAY WATER REFILLING
STATION WITH INSTALLATION TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I DEPARTMENT OF
PARKS AND RECREATION..
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawai`i, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
