COUNTY OF HAWAI`I STATE OF HAWAI'I
RESOLUTION NO. 370 23
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A
DONATION OF AN ADA COMPLIANT ELKAY WATER REFILLING
STATION WITH INSTALLATION TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I
DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION.
WHEREAS, Keiki of Da Aina Foundation(K.O.A. Foundation) is donating an ADA
compliant Elkay Water Refilling Station with installation to the County of Hawai`i
Department of Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, this donation, valued at approximately $2,000, is a state-of-the-art water
fountain equipped with a water bottle refill capacity to be installed at the Kekuaokalani
Gymnasium(Old Airport Gym) in Kailua-Kona; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawai`i County Charter,provides that the
council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other
personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and
WHEREAS,the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this
donation; now,therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I, , in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter,the County of
Hawai`i, accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to Nakoa Pabre, K.O.A. Foundation, 73-1006 Ahulani St., Kailua-Kona, HI
96740, acknowledging this generous donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Department of Parks and Recreation, the Department of Finance, and the
Office of Management.
