A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF AN AWNING WITH INSTALLATION TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAIʻI DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION.
WHEREAS, the West Hawai‘i Veterans Cemetery Development and Expansion Association is donating an awning with installation to the County of Hawai‘i Department of Parks and Recreation;
and
WHEREAS, this donation, valued at approximately $13,000, will be installed at the West Hawai‘i Veterans Cemetery; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaiʻi County Charter, provides that the council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other personal
property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I, , in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaiʻi County Charter, the County of Hawaiʻi, accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to West Hawai‘i Veterans Cemetery Development and Expansion Association, PO Box 1788, Kealakekua,
HI 96750, acknowledging this generous donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Department of Parks and Recreation, the Department of Finance, and the Office of Management.
