SUBJECT: Proposed Amendment to Resolution No. 328-23; a Resolution Urging the Mayor
to Enter into Negotiations with the United States Department of the Interior for
the Acquisition of the Property Identified as Tax Map Key (3) 5-6-001:062,
Known as Old Coast Guard Road, and Other Adjacent Federal Lands as May Be
Necessary, Situated in the Ahupua'a of 'Upolu, District of North Kohala.
Please see below a proposed amendment to Resolution No. 328-23.
The proposed amendment is illustrated below in Ramseyer format as applied to the current
contents of Resolution No. 328-23; material to be deleted is bracketed and stricken, and material
to be added is underscored. Due to the limited scope of this amendment, a draft copy of
Resolution No. 328-23, in its entirety, that would result if this amendment were adopted is not
attached.
The final clause of Resolution No. 328-23 is amended to read as follows:
"BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Honorable Mitchell D. Roth, Mayor of the County of Hawaii; the Honorable
Elizabeth Strance, Corporation Counsel; Deanna Sako, Director of Finance; Zendo Kern,
Planning Director; Stephen Pause, Director of Public Works; [a*d] David Siegenthaler, Regional
Program Manager, Federal Lands [et] to Parks[fl program, United States Department of the
Interior[-.]; Melia Lane-Kamahele, Manager, National Park Service, Pacific Islands Office; the
Honorable Debra Haaland, United States Secretary of the Interior; the Honorable Jill N. Tokuda,
United States Renresentative, the Honorable Mazie Hirono. United States Senator: and the
Honorable Brian Schatz, United States Senator."
