RESOLUTION NO. 373 23
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING THE SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO NORTH KOHALA
COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO
THE MAINTENANCE OF EXERCISE EQUIPMENT AT THE IKUO HISAOKA
GYMNASIUM IN KAPA'AU.
WHEREAS, there are many improvements that need to be implemented at the Ikuo
Hisaoka Gymnasium, an existing County facility at Kamehameha Park in Kapa`au; and
WHEREAS,North Kohala Community Resource Center (NKCRC) is a 501(c)(3)
nonprofit organization working in partnership with community members to improve and
maintain the Ikuo Hisaoka Gymnasium; and
WHEREAS,NKCRC is requesting funding assistance to help cover the costs for
maintenance and repairs to exercise equipment used in the fitness room of the Ikuo Hisaoka
Gymnasium; and
WHEREAS,the Department of Parks and Recreation supports this project as it is in
keeping with the goals and objectives of the department to provide safe, clean, enjoyable,
accessible, and aesthetically pleasing facilities; and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity,
service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of
Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to North Kohala Community Resource Center to assist
with expenses related to the maintenance of exercise equipment at the Ikuo Hisaoka Gymnasium
in Kapa'au.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
