Re: Resolution for multi-year agreement
Section 3-18 of the County Charter requires the County Auditor to conduct or cause to be
conducted, the annual financial audit of the County. Section 10-13 of the County Charter
requires the County Council to provide for an annual independent audit of the accounts
and other evidences of financial transaction of the County and of every county agency
and executive agency.
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the payment of funds for more than one fiscal year,
for an independent auditor, to be determined by the County's RFP process, to perform
services as indicated above for the County Auditor.

A. REQUEST:
To enter into a multi-year contract for five (5) years for an independent auditor(s) to perform the annual audit
of th eaccounts and other evidences of financial transactions of the County and of every County agency and
Executive agency.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The contract for external auditors was a one-year direct negotiation and will expire per the annual audit fiscal
year ended 06/30/2023. Per section 3-18 of the Hawaii County Charter, the County Auditor will conduct or
cause to be conducted the annual financial audit of the County.
