HISEDD will allow for statewide coordination and collaboration in economic development. This agreement does not involve financial exchange, nor does it intend for either party to incur financial obligations. REQUEST: DATE: 11 /22/23 PHONE: 808-961-8368 A Resolution authorizing the County (through the Department of Research and Development), in accordance with HRS §46-7, to engage in an agreement with the Office of Planning and Sustainable Development (OPSD) to form the Hawaii Statewide Economic Development District ("HISEDD") for an indefinite period, starting from the date of the last signature on the Hawaii Statewide Economic Development District Partnership Agreement. This agreement does not involve specific payments or financial exchanges, nor does it intend for either party to incur financial obligations. B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): The purpose of this agreement is to establish the HISEDD to facilitate statewide coordination and collaboration in economic development. It involves the participation of various counties and the State of Hawai'i Office of Planning and Sustainable Development, with the goal of enhancing regional collaboration and access to federal funding for comprehensive economic development strategies.
