Subject: Bill 104 for Dec. 5 reading
I am writing in support of the Long Term Rental Bill, #104, draft 1.
Although I do have concerns that Section 1 is not related, or should not be related to this bill.
Transient Accomodations that rent to Nurses, Students, Physicians are already covered in the
TAR bill about to be introduced by Heather Kimball. These categories are to be exempted by the
TAR bill and pertain to short term rentals of less than 180 days. By inserting this into the long
term Rental bill it seems to not be pertinent.
If this bill is directed to incentivising long term rentals and having more rental places on the
market, that is a good thing and should not have anything to do with short term rentals, or their
exemptions.
