I have been a homeowner in Keaukaha for 12 years and I am writing to ask that the proposed zoning not be changed. There has been overwhelming support for the care and preservation of the delicate environment in this area including but not limited to the coral reef, tide pools and nene. I think the current zoning allows services to the community as well as to visitors. The current arrangement of small restaurants and retail space is good use of this parcel. The current zoning is consistent with the recent improvements of Reeds Bay and Kalanianaole Park. More industrial use of the water front areas would be detrimental to the natural beauty of the area. The residents and visitors would have less options for food and shops in the beautiful Banyan Drive district. There is already too much industrial use in the area of the port. There are many alternate places for car dealerships in other areas of Hilo. I am not in support of a change of Zoning request, Bill 87. The request is to change the zoning designation of TMK 2- 1-006: 002 from RESORT HOTEL to LIMITED INDUSTRIAL.This is the location of Millie's Deli and New Saigon Restaurant, directly across from Ice Pond, SCP Seaside Hotel, Ponds Restaurant and Kuhio Kalanianaole Park. I am in support of keeping Millie's Deli and New Saigon restaurant. Mahalo for your consideration and attention, Maria Jampolsky Comm. No. $t0•Iv Ref.To: p GovhCt1 Ref. Date DEC - 5 2023
