Subject: Support for Bill 104: Long-Term Rental Class .
Aloha Councilmembers, -
I am writing the testimony in strong support of Bill 104.
The creation of a new Long-Term Rental Class will help to incentivize vacant dwellings to become part of the
long-term rental market. As you well know, our communities have been dealing with problems associated with the
lack of housing, especially affordable housing for a long time and with the increase of homelessness the crisis is
more urgent than ever. According to the Office of Housing and Community Development there is a need for over
6,600 new rentals in our County by 2025.
Our island would greatly benefit from your approval of the Bill 104 to effectively address the lack of housing for
our local families. I greatly appreciated all your efforts to address these issues!
