Dear Council Member Sue Lee Loy,
I am reaching out as a resident of Hawaii County to show my support for restricting the sale of all flavored
tobacco products.
80%of tobacco users say they started with a flavored product.They are incredibly addictive, allowing Big
Tobacco to hook our keiki and keep adult users addicted to their products.
I support removing all flavored tobacco products from the market including mint and menthol and I hope you
will too. If we are truly going to make an impact on this deadly addiction, we can't leave any flavored tobacco
products on the market that will make enforcement of the ordinance more difficult and allow the industry
opportunities to circumvent its intent with new products. Kids will gravitate toward any flavors on the market,
even if some are removed, and the tobacco industry has shown its propensity to adapt to loopholes in other
communities' laws.

restriction on all flavored tobacco products.
