I'm writing to express my support for the Contingency Relief Funds resolution earmarking$1,500 to Malama 0 Puna to
support events and activities hosted by the Keaau Middle PTSA. We are so appreciative of the council's support of the
PTSA's efforts to help our school provide opportunities for our students!As our Puna council members are astutely
aware, our school community is in desperate need of positive recreational opportunities for our youth. Students live in
rural areas that preclude them from easily accessing events beyond the Puna area. Ideally, our school serves as a hub
for our students and their families and the greater community to connect with each other. Your monetary support of
our efforts to build community at the school level is so very much appreciated. And we appreciate Malama 0 Puna for
helping to build the capacity of our community by supporting these council contingency relief funds going to the PTSA.
Sorry that I cannot make the meeting in person as I will be working at this time, and I'm actually running an awards
assembly right at the same time that you will be taking up this resolution.
Just know I am there in spirit!Thank you to all involved in making this happen and happy holidays to everyone.
