Subject:Testimony for Approval of CRF Funds to KM-PTSA
Dear council members,
I'm writing to express my support for the Contingency Relief Funds resolution earmarking $1,500 to Malama 0
Puna to support events and activities hosted by the Kea'au Middle PTSA. As board members of the KM-
PTSA, we are so appreciative of the council's support to help our school provide opportunities for our students!
Puna council members are astutely aware that our school communities are in desperate need of positive
recreational opportunities for our youth. Many of our students live in very rural areas that preclude them from
easily accessing events beyond the Puna area. We'd like to envision that our school serves as a hub for our
students, their families and the greater community to connect with each other, as seen by our recent
Halloween Haunt event that brought many more families than just Kea'au Middle School together. Your
monetary support buys items that make those events more exciting to attend and easier to host which more
efficiently builds that community at the school level that we're striving for. And we appreciate Malama 0 Puna
for helping to build the capacity of our community by supporting these council contingency relief funds going to
the PTSA.
Though I cannot make the meeting in person I wanted to submit testimony in favor of these gracious funds.
• Thank you to all involved in making this happen, and happy holidays to everyone.
Aloha,
Selene Wayne
