A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO KALAMAPIʻI PLAY
SCHOOL TO ASSIST WITH ITS LEASE PAYMENTS.
WHEREAS, Kalamapiʻi PLAY School (KPS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide education, life skills, and support in a healthy and safe environment for preschoolers
with a history of trauma or who have had difficulty in the traditional preschool setting; and
WHEREAS, KPS also provides aspiring educators the opportunity to work at the preschool to gain experience and accrue licensing hours; and
WHEREAS, KPS has recently relocated and is requesting funds to assist with its lease payments for the first six months; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations that bring awareness and education to our youth and community on living a healthy, alcohol-free, and drug-free lifestyle;
and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai‘i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying
the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant
to Kalamapiʻi PLAY School to assist with its lease payments.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
