RESOLUTION NO. 397 241'
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE DANIEL R.
SAYRE MEMORIAL FOUNDATION TO PURCHASE FIREFIGHTER CHAIRS AND A
TELEVISION FOR THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT'S KAILUA FIRE STATION
IN WEST HAWAII.
WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization whose mission is to provide fire, emergency, rescue equipment and supplies, or
funding to purchase fire, emergency, rescue equipment and supplies,to the Hawai`i Fire
Department; and
WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Fire Department has identified the need for Firefighter Chairs,
a Captain's Chair, and a television at its Kailua Fire Station in West Hawai`i to provide an
appropriate environment that improves the holistic wellbeing of the members of the department
to ensure our community receives the best possible service; and
WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is requesting funds to purchase
eight Firefighter Chairs, a Captain's Chair, and a television for the Hawai`i Fire Department's
Kailua Fire Station in West Hawai`i; and
WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Fire Department mission is to provide execptional, all hazards
emergency services to the residents of and visitors to Hawai`i Island; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Hawai`i Fire
Department to provide a grant to the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation to purchase
Firefighter Chairs, a Captain's Chair, and a television for the Hawai`i Fire Department's Kailua
Fire Station in West Hawai`i.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Fire Chief and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is hereby
authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
