COUNTY OF HAWAI`I • �:'—= �4 • STATE OF HAWAII Kz.....;44:7TI--",. ...., RESOLUTION NO. 398 24 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO PETFIX SPAY AND NEUTER FOR A REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES FOR ITS SPAY AND NEUTER CLINIC. WHEREAS, PETFIX Spay and Neuter is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to help reduce the overpopulation of cats and dogs throughout the County of Hawai`i; and WHEREAS, PETFIX Spay and Neuter works to protect Hawai`i`s communities and environment by providing safe and professional spay and neuter services on Hawai`i Island at no-cost to lower-income participants; and WHEREAS, PETFIX Spay and Neuter is requesting reimbursement to help defray veterinarian fees and the cost of medications necessary to conduct its Spay and Neuter Clinic held at the Butler Building on Tuesday, January 2, 2024; and WHEREAS, this project falls within the Department of Research and Development's mission to support community programs that balance economic, social, and community priorities in Hawai`i County; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to PETFIX Spay and Neuter for a reimbursement of expenses for its Spay and Neuter Clinic. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
