COUNTY OF HAWAI`I I+� �" •` STATE OF HAWAI`I RESOLUTION NO. 412 24 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO LA`I`OPUA 2020 FOR EXPENSES RELATED TO ITS AFTERSCHOOL ENRICHMENT PROGRAM. WHEREAS, La`i`opua 2020 is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide social, recreational, vocational, educational, and cultural opportunities to the communities of Kona; and WHEREAS, La`i`opua 2020's Afterschool Enrichment Program located at Konawaena Elementary School has been a cornerstone in supporting the educational and holistic development of our local youth for the past six years; and WHEREAS, La`i`opua 2020 is requesting funds to assist in covering unforseen utility fees and for purchasing snacks for the youth participating in the Afterschool Enrichment Program; and WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Research and Development is to support a high quality of life for Hawai`i island residents to help balance Hawai`i Island's economic, social, community, and environmental well-being; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to La`i`opua 2020 to support its Afterschool Enrichement Program. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
