OF M .„) RESOLUTION NO. 384 23 (DRAFT 2) A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT. WHEREAS, the County of Hawai`i ("County") wishes to enter into an agreement with the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD); and WHEREAS, this agreement is to receive federal funds from HUD through its Community Project Funding; and WHEREAS, these funds will be used to support the renovation cost of the Hilo Memorial Hospital located at 34 Rainbow Drive in South Hilo; and WHEREAS, Hawai`i Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that County departments obtain the consent of the Council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers; and now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I , in accordance with section 46-7, Hawai`i Revised Statutes, that the Mayor of the County of Hawai`i is authorized to execute, on behalf of the County, an agreement and related documents with the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development to receive funds as indicated above. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawai`i shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Department of Finance, Office of Management and the Office of Housing and Community Development.
