Dear Chairman Arakaki:
The scheduled closing of the $775,600 Bond Issue to the United States Department of
Agriculture for the Department of Water Supply for improvements to the Ookala,
Paauilo, and Paauhau Water Systems originally scheduled for May 20, 1998, was
cancelled. The closing should occur in June 1998.
Tomorrow, Communication No. 154.02 on the Finance Committee's Agenda on June 2,
1998, should be filed since the Supplemental Summary is as of May 1, 1998, and does
not meet the statutory requirement of being filed within 30 days of the delivery of a new
bond issue. We will submit a new summary after the bond issue closes to ensure
compliance with this 30-day requirement.
