Aloha Council Chair Kimball and Council Members:
I am pleased to nominate Jacob Tavares of District 1 to the Police Commission.
Jacob is a native of Hawai`i Island who completed his high school education at Waiakea High
School. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Gonzaga University and
a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Hawai`i at Manoa.
Jacob has worked for several companies in the past, including the Hawaiian Commercial &
Sugar Company and Alexander & Baldwin. He currently works as a livestock business
operations manager. Jacob grew up in Puna and currently resides in Hamakua. If confirmed, he
will serve a term ending December 31, 2028.
