COUNTY OF HAWAI`I -+ � /_• STATE OF HAWAI`I <br /> • • ir 1';OF ram+? <br /> �tE Nth <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 41'7 24 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A <br /> LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR <br /> FOR MULTI-YEAR LEASES FOR FOUR (4) WALKING FLOOR <br /> TRAILERS AND FOUR (4) COMPACTING TRAILERS FOR THE <br /> DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT <br /> WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, <br /> lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a <br /> later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into multi-year leases for <br /> five (5) years, for four (4) 120 cubic yard walking floor trailers and four (4) 40-foot <br /> compacting trailers; and <br /> WHEREAS, this equipment will be utilized by the Department of <br /> Environmental Management's Solid Waste Division to collect and haul refuse; and <br /> WHEREAS, the walking floor trailers are essential to handle increased <br /> volumes of waste and the ensure compliance with the rules and regulations of the <br /> State Department of Health; and <br /> WHEREAS, the current compacting trailers are over 16 years old and require <br /> replacement; now therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br /> 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into five (5) year leases <br /> for the equipment as indicated above, for the Department of <br /> Environmental Management. <br />
