RESOLUTION NO. 41'7 24
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A
LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR
FOR MULTI-YEAR LEASES FOR FOUR (4) WALKING FLOOR
TRAILERS AND FOUR (4) COMPACTING TRAILERS FOR THE
DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract,
lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a
later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into multi-year leases for
five (5) years, for four (4) 120 cubic yard walking floor trailers and four (4) 40-foot
compacting trailers; and
WHEREAS, this equipment will be utilized by the Department of
Environmental Management's Solid Waste Division to collect and haul refuse; and
WHEREAS, the walking floor trailers are essential to handle increased
volumes of waste and the ensure compliance with the rules and regulations of the
State Department of Health; and
WHEREAS, the current compacting trailers are over 16 years old and require
replacement; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into five (5) year leases
for the equipment as indicated above, for the Department of
Environmental Management.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the
anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the
agreement.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of
Hawaii shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of Management,
the Department of Environmental Management, and the Department of
Finance.
