RESOLUTION NO. 419 24
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A
LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR
FOR A MULTI-YEAR LEASE FOR TWO (2) GRAPPLE TRUCKS
FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract,
lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a
later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into a multi-year lease for
five (5) years, for two (2) grapple trucks; and
WHEREAS, this equipment will be utilized by the Department of
Environmental Management's Solid Waste Division and is needed to move scrap
metals, old appliances and other bulky items from the various transfer stations to
scrap metal facilities; and
WHEREAS, the addition of these trucks will enable the Solid Waste Division
to keep up with increased services and ensure continued compliance with the
rules and regulations of the State Department of Health; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year
lease for the equipment as indicated above, for the Department of
Environmental Management.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the
anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the
agreement.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of
Hawaii shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of Management,
the Department of Environmental Management, and the Department of
Finance.
