Re: Operating Budget
The County of Hawai`i has been awarded $400,000 in from the State of Hawai`i Office
of Planning and Sustainable Development. These funds will be used to support the
assessment, design, and feasibility of low-income affordable housing in a 10.5 acre
portion of Kukuiola Village 9 in North Kona, Hawai`i Island, Hawaii.
Enclosed is a resolution to enter into an agreement to accept these funds. Also enclosed
is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating this $400,000.

B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The County of Hawai'i Office of Housing and Community Development has received written notification that
the application for a Transit-Oriented Development Grant request for funding has been approved and
released by the Governor of Hawaii.
The State TOD grant funding will be used to support the assessment, design, and feasibility of low-income
affordable housing in a 10.5 acre portion of Kukuiola Village 9 in North Kona, Hawai'i Island, Hawai'i. The
ordinance sets up the proper accounts to receive and expend the grant funds.
