RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR MULTI-YEAR LEASES FOR TWO (2) TRAILER MOUNTED PUMPS AND ONE (1) PORTABLE PUMP
FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more
than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawai‘i wishes to enter into multi-year leases for five (5) years, for two (2) trailer mounted portable pumps with 4” discharge and one (1) portable pump with
10” discharge; and
WHEREAS, this equipment will be utilized by the Department of Environmental Management’s Wastewater Division to perform routine maintenance as well as serve as backup units for facilities
island wide should any stationary pumps fail; and
WHEREAS, the acquisition of this equipment is in line with the Department of Environmental Management’s Emergency Response Plan; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I:
That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into five (5) year leases for the equipment as indicated above, for the Department of Environmental Management.
That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawai‘i shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of Management, the Department of Environmental Management,
and the Department of Finance.
