Your Committee on Legislative Approvals and Acquisitions, to which was referred Resolution
No. 407-24,reports as follows:
Resolution No. 407-24, transmitted by Sinclair Salas-Ferguson, via Communication No. 681, dated
December 20, 2023, accepts the dedication of a roadway lot, containing an area of 54,424 square feet,
in the Kupulau Meadows Subdivision, Phase II,portion of Grant 9460 to Henrietta D. Holt,being
identified as Tax Map Key: 2-4-076-052, situated at Waiakea, District of South Hilo, Island and
County of Hawai`i, State of Hawai`i, from Foliage Partners, a Hawaii limited partnership, Kupulau
Anthurium Partners, a Hawai`i limited partnership, and Andraea Partners, a limited partnership.
The landowners seek to dedicate the roadway and all improvements for public roadway purposes.
Public Works Director Steve Pause, Public Works Deputy Division Chief Melanie DeMello, and
Deputy Corporation Counsel Sinclair Salas-Ferguson were in Chambers to provide details and explain
reasons for this dedication that was built to dedicable standards in 2009.
Pursuant to Section 13-12 of the Hawai`i County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the County, may
accept gifts, including real estate or any interest in real estate.
Your Committee on Legislative Approvals and Acquisitions is in accord with the purpose and intent of
Resolution No. 407-24, and recommends its adoption.
