Subject: Bill 121
Bill 121 poses a direct threat to my employment as a housekeeper within the short-term vacation
rental industry, and I strongly oppose its passage. This bill, if enacted, introduces regulations that
could significantly impact the operation of vacation rentals, leading to a potential loss of jobs for
individuals like myself.
Short-term vacation rentals have become a vital part of the hospitality sector, providing travelers with
alternative accommodation options. However, the proposed measures in Bill 121, such as increased
regulations and restrictions, could place a burden on the owners and operators of these rentals. In
response to heightened compliance requirements, there is a real risk of job cuts and downsizing in
the industry, affecting the livelihoods of dedicated workers like me.
As a housekeeper in the short-term vacation rental sector, I understand the importance of
maintaining high standards and ensuring a positive experience for guests. Rather than imposing
restrictive measures that may lead to job losses, I urge lawmakers to consider alternative solutions
that balance the interests of all stakeholders. It is crucial to find a middle ground that supports the
thriving vacation rental industry while safeguarding the employment opportunities of those working
within it.
