Subject: Hawaii TAR Code Amendment
Aloha,
My girlfriend and I recently bought a home on Hawaii and she owns and operates a STVR. She is a
very responsible owner and she takes care to do things correctly. The language in this code
amendment is very frightening. She is not wealthy by any means and this is her main source of
income. She has taken great care and worked incredibly hard to build up her business responsibly
and this will be her main source of retirement income in the future. The thought of an arbitrary fine for
various infractions left to the sole discretion of the Director seems very unfair and unethical. We both
believe that there are already enough regulations currently in place to hold owners responsible for the
operation of their STVR and licensing without adding any additional and unnecessary burdens that
this amendment would create. Please vote no on this amendment.
