Hawaii County Council
After reviewing the latest proposed bill 121 regarding transient accommodations I understand that
some of the proposed increases in fees and taxation may be considered necessary. However, as a
long time and current Hawaii resident and retired State employee, I have been legally providing non-
hosted transient accommodation at my property for years and have some concerns about future tax
and fee increases for residents in my situation due to the high cost of living in the islands. Hopefully,
the government agencies in charge of these policies will keep in mind the importance of fair and
reasonable taxation and fee increase limits going forward for resident owners in my position.
