Regarding the proposed amendments/bills pertaining to vacation rentals.TARs and STVR are important
to our community, especially with high costs of living in Hawaii. It is already hard for families to make
ends meet.There are no changes needed to the current laws in place, in fact high taxes and already take
their toll in rental owners/operators. Hawaii residents should not be punished for trying to make a living.
With the taxes in place already(GET/TAT) and home exemption being denied for renting out short term
those of us who have these rentals already have a huge burden.As Americans we should have the
freedom to do as we please with our land and home, be it rent a room or unit, host an event, etc. These
laws overstep our freedoms and put too many limits on the people of Hawaii.
