It is a great idea to allow ADUs to help will out lack of housing on the island. This will allow more families to live together on the same property and provide more rental units. The only issue I have is the restriction of not allowing ADUs on any building site with TARs(section 25-6- 32). If the goal is to make it more affordable for people to live on the island, why come up with an arbitrary restriction? So if my mother is using part of her house as a TAR to make ends meet, why keep me from building a second home on her property so I can afford to stay in Hawaii?Make things easier, not harder. Mahalo for your time, Keith Marrack ps- I have heard that this is tied to Bill 121. If that is correct, please consider just passing Bill 123 (with the TAR restriction removed) regardless of what happens to Bill 121.We need this bill. i Comm. No. 1i1-1.•1 Ref. To: 1 Ref.
