My name is Robert Glory Sr. a lifelong resident of North Kohala. I am in agreement with Bill 125 in that
bicycle tours create a hazard to both the riders and vehicle traffic on route 250, Kohala Mountain Road,
and route 270,Akoni Pule Highway, going to Pololu Valley Lookout.
Both roadways have limited shoulders for bicycle use especially when they ride in clusters which I have
experienced. Making it unsafe for themselves and the motorist. There are a lot of winding roadways with
limited view of oncoming traffic, and if you try to overtake them you would have to straddle the
centerline which is almost always impossible. I have personally seen 10 or more bicyclists on the
roadway together.
I have personally spoken to members of the Kohala Senior Citizen Club,who share the same feelings as I
do but do not have the means to communicate with you.
