Subject: Limiting bike tours in N. Kohala
I am in support of Councilman Cindy Evan's resolution to limit commercial use of Kohala Mountain Road and the Akoni Pule
Road from Hawi to Pololu.
It is very dangerous and is very stressful for drivers to maneuver these roads especially with the increased tourist driver traffic
and large trucks that are becoming more frequent.You have foreign tourist and drivers who stop in the roadways to take
pictures and to have to be on the lookout for multiple bikers too is very dangerous. We should be thinking of the safety and
convenience of tax payers who use these roads on a daily basis.Who benefits from these tours,the tour company. No brainer,
do you protect the thousands of residents who commute these roads daily or try to serve the few hundred bikers who do
tours, and the few tour companies who pop every now and then.
Thank you for your continued service. Protect and preserve Hawaii County for its people.
