Subject: Support of Bill 125
Aloha,
I am a North Kohala resident for the last 8 years and SUPPORT Bill 125 -which prohibits commercial
bicycle tours on a portion of Kohala Mountain Road and a portion of Akoni Pule Highway.
Bicyclists present a problem on these roads. Both portions of these roads are winding with low visibility
and little to no shoulder. It is incredibly dangerous for both drivers and bicyclists. The bike tours are
often attended by nonprofessional bicyclists as well,which makes it extra difficult for drivers to navigate
as they cycle erratically.
I am in full support of this bill to make roads safer for the North Kohala community. Mahalo Cindy Evans
for proposing this and listening to your constituents' concerns.
