Dear Council Members,
I'm writing in relation to Bill 107,which would allocate funding for a study for additional lanes or an alternate route from Puna
to Hilo. I think that widening Highway 130 between Pahoa and Hilo is a good idea,as long as the access points in Paradise Park
and Orchidland are addressed.Also,the roundabout at Ainaloa is ridiculous.The minimum size for a roundabout is widely
known and why this one was made so small should be taken up with the engineers.
Beyond all that, I believe that Resolution 416-24 is important. I think that enough land has been taken away from Native
Hawaiians and we should be talking about how to reduce the blood quotient necessary to obtain land there from 1/2 Hawaiian
to 1/32 Hawaiian. Let's do the right thing! No more stealing of land, no more colonization!
