Subject: Resolution 416- Testimony Urging DPW To Exclude All Routes That Bisect HHL Trust
Lands While Conducting PMAR Study
Aloha,
I support Resolution 416,which requests the proposed PMAR study to exclude all routes
that bisect Hawaiian Homelands. East Hawaii HHL trust lands have borne the brunt of commercial
and industrial endeavours over the years. It isn't fair to homesteaders to add a major thoroughfare
to the mix.
DHHL has suggested the consideration of an alternative route in their testimony
for Bill 107.
I also firmly believe the scope;of the PMAR study needs to be expanded to include
the creation of alternative routes that connect Highway 11/Puna mauka and makai.
Mayor Roth and Director Pause need to seek additional funds to widen the scope NJ `(
of this study.
