Res. 436-24: AUTHORIZES THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND
OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI -YEAR EMPLOYMENT
CONTRACT FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF RESEARCH AND
DEVELOPMENT
Authorizes the County to enter into a three-year employment contract for an Early
Childhood Resource Associate to assist with expanding access to affordable and
high -quality childcare and education.

BEING A PORTION OF TAX MAP KEY NO. 7-5-006-034 AND CONTAINING
AN AREA OF 1,794 SQUARE FEET, SITUATED AT LANIHAU 2ND,
KAILUA, NORTH KONA, ISLAND OF HAWAI`I, FROM THE STATE OF
HAWAI`I, BY ITS BOARD OF LAND AND NATURAL RESOURCES
The County seeks to utilize the parcel for public parking.

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A
LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR
FOR A MULTI-YEAR EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT FOR THE
DEPARTMENT OF RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract,
lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a
later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into a multi-year
employment contract for one (1) Early Childhood Resource Associate in the
Department of Research and Development; and
WHEREAS, this employment contract will be executed for three (3) years;
and
WHEREAS, this employment contract will be funded by the American Rescue
Plan Act; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I:
1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a multi-year
employment contract as indicated above, for the Department of
Research and Development.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the
anticipated obligations of the County under the term of the
agreement.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of
Hawaii shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of Management,
the Department of Finance and the Department of Research and
Development.
