COUNTY OF HAWAI`I :• `" STATE OF HAWAI`I <br /> • ,os:wNA <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 43`7 24 <br /> RESOLUTION CREATING THIRTY-THREE (33) NEW POLICE <br /> OFFICER I (TEMPORARY) POSITIONS FOR THE HAWAI`I <br /> COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> WHEREAS, the Police Department is in need of thirty-three (33) new <br /> Police Officer I (Temporary) positions to add to the department's Recruit <br /> Training Pool; and <br /> WHEREAS, these positions will accommodate the Police Department's <br /> transition and rotation of inbound and existing Police Officer I Recruits; and <br /> WHEREAS, these positions are needed to support the continuous <br /> recruitment efforts to secure more law enforcement officials; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawaii County Charter <br /> states that the Mayor has the power to "Create positions...for which <br /> appropriations have been made by the council..."; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I <br /> that thirty-three (33) new Police Officer I (Temporary) positions be created in <br /> the Hawaii County Police Department. <br />
