No. 427-24 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 9:01 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Legislative Approvals and Acquisitions, to which was referred Resolution <br /> No. 427-24, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 427-24, transmitted by Housing Administrator Susan Kunz, via Communication <br /> No. 698, dated January 17, 2024, authorizes the exemption of certain code requirements, pursuant to <br /> Section 201H-38 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, for the Kuakini Heights Affordable Housing Project <br /> in Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i, covered by Tax Map Key: 7-5-003:007 (Area: 10.529 acres). <br /> Kuakini Heights Housing Partners LP seeks exemptions from Hawai`i County Code provisions for <br /> setback requirements, grading permit fees, building permit fees, and loading zone stall height <br /> requirements and exemptions from conditions within change of zone district Ordinance No. 06-152 <br /> relating to Final Subdivision Approval, time constraints on completion of construction, the <br /> development of a Salvation Army Complex, fair share contributions, and impact fees. <br /> Anne Bailey from the Office of Housing and Zendo Kern, Planning Director, was available in <br /> Chambers to answer questions.
