Comments: We ask of each council member:
to very carefully think about the mayor's proposal to build a Queen K-Alii mauka makai connector
road before the construction of the Alii Parkway. We believe the mayor's proposal will jeopardize
the financing and engineering integrity of the proposed Ali'i Parkway. Many community leaders
have worked hours and hours over the past several years to come up with a plan that the majority
of residents agree with. The Alii Parkway as planned will be eighty percent federally funded and
the mayors piece-meal proposal is not. Instead of building a substandard connector road, please
expedite the construction of the Alii Parkway as planned. Let's do it right the first time and spend
money wisely.
