A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR VARIOUS ‘IKE PONO INTERSESSION PROGRAMS
IN THE HĀMĀKUA-NORTH/SOUTH HILO DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Recreation Division, provides diversified recreational programs and activities for various age groups that address the needs and interests
of the respective communities in a safe environment at County recreational facilities; and
WHEREAS, the Recreation Division conducts intersession programs throughout the year in the Hāmākua-North/South Hilo district for keiki from kindergarten to sixth grade; and
WHEREAS, the ‘Ike Pono intersession programs will include a variety of activities such as ‘āina-place-based education, arts-and-crafts projects, music, technological opportunities, and
other activities that work to build and create an innovative Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) emphasis for the youth; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting funds for the purchase of musical supplies, such as ukulele, music sheet binders and stands, technological supplies, such
as one photo printer, one LED smart TV and supportive mobile equipment, and arts-and-crafts supplies, such as Polymer and Premo baking clay and supportive equipment, beads, luggage
tags, key chain rings, etc. for its Summer ‘Ike Pono intersession programs in the Hāmākua-North/South Hilo districts; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation for its various
‘Ike Pono intersession programs in the Hāmākua-North/South Hilo district; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
