Our group name is Huaka'i La.We,the undersigned,agree and support this purchase and stand behinds
you in squiring this land.We also agree with Roy's following letter. __
As an avid hiker and naturalist, I'm excited and amazed at these trails and ruins our ancestors have built,
and most are still present today for us to marvel over, makes me proud to be Hawaiian.At Ka'ohe and
surrounding lands,once known as Kapalilua (Place of Ali'i),there is much cultural history to be re-
discovered.This parcel will be a wise gift to pass on for peoples now and in the future.
At present, Dennis Hart and myself,with close contact with National Park Ala Kahakai Historic Trails, has
for the last 17 years,embarked on a community trail cleaning and hiking group called Huaka'i La (Day
Marchers),we clear these trails and others to keep them clear and safe for all to use.
We as a community group welcome this purchase and stand behind you whole-heartedly in aquiring
these lands. Please feel free to contact me as needed.
