Aloha Councilmembers,
I am writing the testimony in strong support of Resolution 427.
The creation of a 100 new affordable housing in Kona is desperately needed! As you well know, our communities
have been dealing with problems associated with the lack of affordable housing, especially in Kona. Hope
Services and other businesses in Kona are have staffing issues primarily due to workers unable to find affordable
housing in Kona. According to the Office of Housing and Community Development there is a need for over 6,600
new rentals in our County by 2025.
Our island would greatly benefit from your approval of the Resolution 427 to effectively address the lack of
affordable housing for our local families. I greatly appreciated all your efforts to address these issues!
