Subject: Vicious dogs testimony
Hello,
We own a house at 92-8777 Bamboo Lane in Hawaiian Ocean View Estates(HOVE). In the past few years, I have not
been able to walk in my yard or run in my neighborhood without encountering stray dogs. I carry pepper spray with me,
but what concerns me the most is the packs of dogs I see,which pepper spray would not do much against.We have to
be extra careful while driving in HOVE because of the dogs that run out and bark at or chase our vehicle. Seeing dead
dogs on the side of the road is common in HOVE.This is a very sad situation for all involved,and I hope that Hawaii
County will listen to the concerns of residents of HOVE before someone else gets injured or killed by stray dogs.Action
must be taken to prevent dogs from killing again,and to prevent the animal abuse you see in HOVE.
RIP to Bob Northrop,who lost his life to a dog attack in our neighborhood in 2023.
