Subject: Puna Alternate Routes Study
I am writing to support the Puna Alternative Routes Study.
As a Puna resident since 1982, I have seen the traffic on the Pahoa-Kea'au highway go from bad to often horrible and
dangerous. Our area has grown tremendously and yet continues to have only one means of egress. An accident on the
highway can create an hours long delay,and the scenario should we need to leave the area enmasse is unthinkable.
I strongly ask you to fund this study to plan for our future in lieu of being faced with necessary reaction to potential
future situations.
